100 books in 2013

I started 5 books this month, some I have finished others I am still working through.

So I started the series Blood and Snow by RaShelle Workman. When I originally purchased it, I did not realize it was just a novelette with 12 parts all together. I have a habit of buying books based on how much I like the cover. lol. Anywho, Now I am hooked and can't wait to read the entire series. It is a quick read and sometimes the MC gets annoying with her reminding you of her oddities. If you are an avid reader with a good memory you will remember she is klutzy or shy and is madly in love with the boy in the story, is there a need to remind, remind, remind.
.....................................................................................................

**Spoiler Alert**

ANYWAY, I like the characters, they are cute and fun and sound somewhat realistic. The boys are very likeable. I am a huge fan of bringing to life old fairy tales from when I was a kid. Any new interpretation of snow white or cinderella alice in wonderland I'm game for it. I love it all so I think that is what drew me in.

Okay so a little about the story. vol 1 Blood and snow. -> Snow White is a 15 year old girl who lives in present day Salem Massachusetts with her cat Gatsby, father and step mother who are never home. Her mother died a few years back and with mourning her she hides behind her long beautiful black hair and baggy boy clothes. Her father and his new wife travel all the time leaving her alone months at a time. Her nieghbour is a man, Adam Henry who she calls Professor Pops and has 7 adoptive sons. Whose names all begin with the severn dwarfs from the 1937 snow white movie. (Grumpy) Gabe, (bashful)Bart, (Sleepy)Sebastian, (Dopey)Daniel, (Doc)Dorian, Happy)Heathcliff and (Sneezy)Salvatre. Snow has known and loved them all since she was a child. Her best friends is a blond girl who likes attention and fashion named Cindy. Cindy is very verbal when it comes to boys she likes and she likes Snow's bestie Gabe, whom snow is in love with. Then two months before her 16th birthday a new boy comes to town, Cindy sets her eyes on the newbie, Chace Charming. Turns out Charming is out to win Snow's love. Thing is Gabe has revealed his feelings for Snow too. Then the the worst thing that could happen to a 15 year old whos has two boys pining after her she gets bitten by one of the vampire queens drones a hunter names Christopher and becomes a revenant which is not quite vampire but also not human.

Vol 2 The revenant in training. Professor Pops begins to teach Snow the intentions of the vampire queen. Now Snow has no choice but to figure out how to live as this not so human being. Live day to day train and try not to kill anyone. She has discovered that every thousand years the vampire queen must select a new body and it is always the fairest in the land this time its Snow White. Now that she understands there is a realm the queen uses to her advantage, by communicating to snow whether she is asleep or awake. The hunter is revealed to her after they share blood and as it turns out Charming is the hunter. Snow was warned not to drink human blood other wise things will change drastically for her and that Christopher the Hunter is good at manipulating his prey.

Vol 3 In The vampire Christopher, snow learns a great deal of the creatures she must learn to fight and kill. From black unicorns to the vampire queen. Professor pops continues to stress the importance of not drinking human blood or being with the hunter in the other realm because he will manipulate her. To late for that and she is afraid to come foward about her actions in secret. The hunter who is Christopher in the queens releam but Charming in the real world. She is lusting for him every moment she is asleep and awake. Even though she drinks the bloodlust tea twice a day she still craves the hunters blood. Now that Gabe has put his feelings on hold because she was bitten, she feels more drawn to Christopher who shows her the affection she longs. Now she is taunted by the chant she hears no matter what realm, 'Lips red as rubies. Hair dark as night. Drink your true love's blood. Become the Vampire, Snow White.' Snow is confused, who is her true love... Christopher/Charming? Gabe?

Vol 4 Finished vol 4 and now I can't wait to read the next. It leaves you hanging. I wont say how but there is a magical necklace involved a missing boy and a dead boy! What was a little annoying is her reaction to the meaning behind the necklace she got from her hunter. When Kenmai(spl?) tells her the story, she freaks and runs out of the house telling the only family she really has to never talk to her again. It was way over dramatic to me.

I am really enjoying the series so far .

2013

Morning,
The new year has begun and I am already thinking positively. I have set my New Years resolutions and looking forward to making them happen. 2013 is going to be a good year. Nothing can beat the worst year of all for me which was 2012. 36 years old and never once did I ever have so much shit happen to me in one year. With 2012 in my rearview and 2013 in my sights I am going to make things happen. Determination is the word of the year. I am inspired and on fire. Total cliches here huh. lol. Oh well I am feeling good about this year and I am taking it on, head first and I challenge all of you to do the same. Good luck to each and every one of my friends here blogspot I wish you all the best in 2013. And I would also thank you to everyone who took the opportunity to get a free copy of my books from Smashwords. I really hope you enjoy the series, more is yet to come in Book 4 of the Immortal Island series.
Cheers
xoxo
